Environmental regenerative initiatives at Lynton Downs
Lynton Downs is located in a dramatic and unique part of New Zealand where the mountains meet the sea.
There is a vast array of biodiversity here on the station. Many different species of flora and fauna exist at Lynton Downs and our vision is to protect and enhance what is here for generations to come. We support this by shutting off areas of native bush, fencing off waterways and gullies to allow natives to continue to regenerate and planting native trees , in turn helping the wildlife and environment. We are supported by Environment Canterbury and we support Trees That Count, click to read more about it. Rachel has set up a small nursery on farm and we are actively learning about seed sourcing and propagation so we can use these trees especially the podocarps on farm as part of our on-going commitment and goals. |
