Relax in our beautiful East Wing

Our historic East Wing started its life as a more humble single story farm dwelling until the Wood family bought the property. It is said that the house was thoroughly modernised in the 1880s with the top story, turret, electric lighting and hot water added.

Today, you will stay in a gorgeous self-contained apartment within the original home. The East Wing caters for adults and is non-smoking. 
The apartment is set amidst NZ natives and has two decks to enjoy the views onto gardens and farmland. It is a place to relax and enjoy the beauty.

Facilities include:

• The East Wing has a beautiful open plan living /dining area and features a full kitchen and a laundry.
• Warm, centrally heated, double glazed and wool insulated. 
• The East Wing has two bedrooms with ensuites and sleeps four people:​
  • The Karkariki  (green) Room has a queen bed and also features a generous ensuite bathroom.
  • In the Kowhai (yellow) Room there is a King bed which can be converted to two king singles. The room has an ensuite bathroom with shower.
  • Good quality linen and warm feather duvets.
  • The two bathrooms have a shower, robes, hairdryer, large fluffy towels and gorgeous e-friendly soaps and body washes.
• A separate living room has a large comfy sofa and chairs, throws, TV with SKY, DVD, Free Wi-Fi, and a selection of books, games and magazines. 
• Kitchen with oven/induction hobs, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine and all kitchenware
• Complimentary tea and coffee (espresso machine and plunger)
• Portacot and table high chair
• Laundry area with washing machine, iron and drying rack​

The East Wing is self-catering. Just bring along your own food, and cook your meals using the facilities of the fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen is has an espresso machine and a range of complimentary teas as well as coffee. There is also a recycling system in place.

If you feel like a break from cooking, Kaikoura is a scenic 20 minute drive with numerous eating experiences there and along the coast. If you need supplies there is a New World supermarket in Kaikoura , as well as two delicatessens providing regional produce. In the summer there are regular Sunday Farmer’s Markets.
